“The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.” - Henri Bergson
In order to illustrate this quote, I first photographed various instances where I found the letter “T.” I did not use any printed letterforms, but instead used ordinary objects.
I wanted to push the idea of this quote slightly farther however, and push the viewer to find other unexpected Ts in the poster itself. The large negative space suggests a T that extends outside the poster, and the squares help enforce this negative space.
I wanted to use the grid to not only organize the information, but also introduce a new idea.
