Century Expanded

This poster was assigned for Typography I. Every student was assigned a font (I got Century Expanded). The goal of the poster design was to express the many nuances of the typeface, so that after studying the poster, that font could be easily identified. I wanted to highlight Century Expanded’s distinctive “Q” and also a few other letterform details that mark Century Expanded.
The text used is used to show how the font appears as a textblock. The text features a brief history of Century Expanded, although the emphasis is meant to be on the visual appearance.
